Texas is a powerhouse for EDM. Not only are there major clubs throughout the entire state constantly bringing down top DJ’s but it is also the home of various EDM festivals that go on each year with Ubbi Dubbi Festival being the next major EDM festival scheduled to take place on April 24th & 25th in Ennis, TX. It doesn’t matter what type of EDM you listen to, you’re bound to find a show that fits your taste. This past weekend was a techno night for me. I was able to attend and photograph SOEL’s set in Bauhaus Houston. Bauhaus Houston is located in the heart of Downtown Houston. They specialize in bringing the best of techno and house artists and try to stray away from mainstream sounds. “Bauhaus was built with a simple philosophy: to bring a novel and always-evolving experience to nightlife in Houston. We worked with a dream team of designers, professionals, and industry specialists to create an environment based in cutting-edge visual and audio technology, musical formats, and interior design. Our interior 3D mapping and custom video content, paired with our one-of-a-kind sound system, offer an unparalleled nightclub journey.”

SOEL can be categorized under either ambient or techno but his inspiration comes from various background. Not only will you see his Arabic roots in his music, but you’ll also hear 80’s dark disco, rock and some Hollywood icon music. He’s been asked in several interviews what inspires him the most and he usually answers that it’s just the world around him.

Check out this clip of him covering Killer (Radio Slave's Attack Ships on Fire Remix) by Eli Brown.
...a build up!!
